For this month’s “Best Practices” theme, our first workshop of the 2013-2014 season will give you a leg up in the often confusing subject of budgets. Join MWMC as Kara Wallace, Director of Marketing for Mortenson Construction, shares her insights and expertise in how to use your budget to get C-Suite buy-in for your marketing strategies. During this workshop you will have 2 hours to learn these best practices from an expert.

During this workshop you can expect to:

- Look at real-life budget examples for a marketing campaign and how to effectively present it to an executive team or client; and

- Learn the best tactics to get the senior management/client understanding and buy-in.

- Get your budget specific questions answered: Bring your own examples and get advice on how to best frame your specific program for approval; Get help with determining the best metric to show results from last year’s investments for execs.

During this workshop you will learn:

  1. How to Present your budget both in Excel and PowerPoint
  2. How to sell your budget and marketing approach to your internal audience
  3. How to make sure your approach is working by looking at the best metrics to use.

Bring your questions and personal examples as we put our heads together to brainstorm solutions. Network and meet your colleagues at MWMC.

About the speaker:

In Kara Wallace’s career in B2B service companies, she has mastered the art of turning the intangible into a compelling value proposition. She has served as VP of North America Marketing for a billion-dollar publicly-traded company, and she has recently joined M.A. Mortenson Company, a $2B+ builder ranked in the US Top 20. Kara holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern and a BS in Communication from the University of Minnesota.

MWMC Making a Difference in our Community: Dress for Success Clothing/Jewelry/Purse Drive

Once again this programming year MWMC continues to strengthen its commitment to volunteerism to help women in our community. We are holding an ongoing Dress for Success Clothing/Jewelry/Purse Drive at our MWMC events.

Dress for Success is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the economic independence of disadvantaged women in the Twin Cities by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. We are encouraging all attendees to bring one item (clothes, jewelry, purses) to donate to Dress for Success. All items will be collected at registration. Cash donations are also accepted.
